We read Fly Australia’s price for 12 November and 8 December 2026 and 12 January 2027, for one adult and for two. It was the same every time, with no promotion and no strike-through price.
What the fare includes
Fly Australia’s price covers the courtesy bus from named stops in Airlie Beach and back, the air-conditioned lounge, luggage storage, free parking if you drive, the 60-minute flight with live commentary and a window seat, and marine park fees, airport fees and taxes. The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority’s environmental management charge on a sight-seeing flight is A$0.40 an excursion (checked November 2026), so the marine park part of the fare is small.
The one-hour flight from Whitsunday Airport includes the bus from 21 stops, lounge access with lockers, Wi-Fi and a cafe, and a guaranteed window seat. Whitsunday Air Tours includes hotel pickup and drop-off by van, the flight and a guaranteed window seat. Neither lists anything as extra.
The Fly Raft day is different: drinks and snacks on the boat cost extra, and on Queensland public holidays a surcharge of $20 an adult, $10 a child or $50 for a family of two adults and two children is added.

Booked direct from Hamilton Island
None of the flights above leaves from Hamilton Island. Hamilton Island Air sells its flights direct: its seaplane flight over the reef is A$830 a person, for a minimum of four (checked November 2026). Tourism and Events Queensland lists the Heart Island helicopter, which sets down on a pontoon near Heart Reef, from A$1,400 a person. Flying from Hamilton Island compares the two departure points.
The cheapest way to see Heart Reef from the air
Whitsunday Air Tours' flight is the lowest price and the longest, at 70 minutes, but it adds a 30-minute van ride each way to Laguna Quays, and Heart Reef is among its highlights rather than in its route description. For about US$21 more, Fly Australia’s flight leaves ten minutes from town and names Heart Reef on the route.
